HOMEPOT

HOMEPOT aims to unify the management of diverse IT, OT, and IoT devices through a secure, modular platform that simplifies control across fragmented hardware and software ecosystems. By enabling centralized policy enforcement, edge intelligence, and secure connectivity, HOMEPOT enhances deployment speed, operational efficiency, and cybersecurity. The project targets applications in smart homes, industrial automation, and connected cities—laying the foundation for a scalable and intelligent device management infrastructure adaptable to various verticals.

The main goals of the project:

  • Unified policy-based management of heterogeneous IT, OT, and IoT devices through a scalable, secure, and modular platform architecture.
  • Declarative, context-aware policy modeling to support dynamic device control, tailored user roles, and multi-domain requirements
  • Real-time policy enforcement and device behavior monitoring using distributed edge/cloud coordination, enabling local autonomy and centralized oversight.
  • Standardized onboarding, classification, and lifecycle management of diverse endpoints across industrial, residential, and mobile environments.
  • Integration of compliance and security frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST) into device governance, ensuring trustworthy operations across sectors and regions.

Some Project KPIs/Major HOMEPOT outcomes:

  • Achieve automated device onboarding and classification with over 90% accuracy across heterogeneous environments.
  • Reduce average device provisioning and configuration time by 40% through centralized policy automation.
  • Develop and validate a unified policy management platform supporting IT, OT, and IoT device environments across at least 7 national demonstrators
  • Demonstrate edge-enabled anomaly detection with at least 80% detection accuracy in smart home and industrial settings.
  • Implement role-based access and conditional policies in real-time for over 1000 concurrently managed devices per demonstrator.
  • Validate HOMEPOT’s effectiveness in six sectors: telecom, energy, manufacturing, public safety, food tech, and smart homes.
